Average doesnt seem to cut it anymore in this market

After testing out the job market for the last 6 months or so before I landed my current role, I had a harsh realization that being an average candidate does not cut it any longer. I honestly feel that I got very lucky simply because I know how to get along well with others and enough technical knowledge to get by.

I have accepted that I will never be the unicorn that so many of these people on Reddit either are or pretend to be and I’m at peace with that.

I fear that one day my luck will run out and for that reason I push harder than ever to stay current and upskill wherever I can.

Gone are the days of a simple, stable, independent career in tech that is fading away day by day…
